In June 1944, the town of Chambois was a key venue of the Falaise battle. Troops of the 1st Polish Armored Division joined forces with units of the 90th American Infantry Division to withstand attacks of German troops attempting to break encircling enemy lines. The set includes a Roman style church, a former mayor’s office building, and a townhouse at Rue de Polonaise 9.
